Made some juicy New York Strip steaks with asparagus and baby yellow potatoes. I sear the outside of the steaks then lower the heat and cover so the juices cook inside the meat and I don’t even need steak sauce.
Also bought a Nerf gun! I though the Kronos wasnt supposed to come out so soon. Just had to get it. Already lost a ball... the ones that go in the gun :P
Shoots perfect, The spring gives the gun a kickback when firing and you pull the top back to load the gun. Shoots accurate for a ball of foam, much better than the traditional darts.Bigger than I thought, measures 12 inches... yeah!
And $kay bait :P

Very nice.
I went to a really nice hotel restaurant. Everything was great except the only Irish whiskey they had was Jameson (the hotel was just over the border in Scotland, so to be expected). Ordered the steak medium (I usually go rare but for some reason I asked for medium), it arrived. Two small to medium sized mushrooms were hiding under some rocket, two cherry tomatoes halved, chips (fries) that looked like they came from a chip shop rather than tripled cooked steak chips and the steak was small and very well done.
Thankfully the company I was in was fantastic and the drinks weren’t too expensive £14 (USD$19) for a large large Auchentoshan 12 year old.

Not enough food to plate ratio, but whiskey makes up for it ;)

It just looked quickly done and thrown together, it was only the fact the steak was overdone that said it wasn’t quickly thrown together.
One of the ladies I was with complained and got her steak taken off the bill. I didn’t want to complain about mine as I didn’t want to look like we were scamming them.
That’s the thing with food. We’ve been to some quaint quiet places and the food has been amazing, them places like this where all the money and effort has gone into making the place look good but the food is more worse than if someone had gone home, couldn’t be bothered about cooking, thrown something together and stuck it on a plate.

What the heck, I made the same thing last night. Strip steak on my grill, baby yellow potatoes, and asparagus. No pics from last night, but there’s some leftovers in my fridge... What are the odds, I’ve never made that combo before.

Haha, me neither. I usually go for steaks and asparagus or steaks and a large baked potato.
